Biografía
Marisa Hoffmann, MSc, BoH, PT, OMPT is a German physical therapist, clinician, educator, and researcher specializing in musculoskeletal and craniofacial rehabilitation, with a particular focus on head, neck, and facial pain.
She graduated in Physical Therapy in 2005 from Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, Germany, in cooperation with Hogeschool Utrecht, the Netherlands. She subsequently completed an MSc in Health and Rehabilitation at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, in 2007. During her time in the UK, she also worked as a Research Assistant at the Stroke Association Rehabilitation Research Centre in Southampton.
Marisa is an Orthopedic Manual Therapist (OMPT, IFOMPT standards) and has extensive clinical experience in musculoskeletal and craniofacial physical therapy.
In 2012, she founded AGILPHYSIO, a private practice near Mainz, Germany, specializing in the management of musculoskeletal disorders and patients with head, neck, and facial pain.
Since 2015, Marisa has been an international instructor for CRAFTA® (Craniofacial Therapy Academy), teaching Foundation and Advanced courses across Europe, the United States, and Canada.
She holds a part-time position at Physio Deutschland (German Association for Physiotherapy, Member of World Physiotherapy) in the Department of Education and Science. In this role, she coordinates the association’s involvement in clinical practice guidelines and contributes to initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between research evidence and clinical practice and implementation of clinical guidelines. She also serves as a professional society representative on several multidisciplinary clinical practice guideline panels.
Alongside her clinical, educational, and professional association activities, she is involved in research and is currently conducting doctoral research (PhD equivalent) at the University of Augsburg, Germany.
Her professional interests include craniofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders, neck pain, clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, clinical practice guidelines, and the translation of research evidence into clinical practice.
